Brief HISTORICAL ROUND-UP: The Spitz German are downward of the dog of the tundra of the Stone age « canis familiaris palustris Rüthimeyer », which later knew like the « Spitz of the lacustrine communities », being like this the race perruna more ancient of the Central Europe. A big quantity of races derived of this. In countries in where it does not speak the German language, the Spitz type wolf also receive the name of Keeshond and the Spitz dwarves know like Pomeranian.
GENERAL appearance: The Spitz call the attention by his beautiful separate fur with the presence of a lanilla internal very tupida. It is striking the collar surrounded of an abundant mane and the tail covered of peel long, volteada upwards and widespread atrevidamente on the back. The head is resembled the one of the vixen with diligent eyes and small ears pointy. The ears, planted very next among yes, confer to the Spitz his characteristic appearance managed.

Temperament / BEHAVIOUR: The Spitz German is attentive constantly, is active and excepcionalmente dependent of his master. It learns with rapidity and can be coached with ease. His distrust to the odd and his fault of interest by the hunting allow to consider it like the ideal watchdog for the house and the farm. His more remarkable characteristics are his resistance to the intemperie, his robustness and his longevity.
Head CRANIAL region: Skull: The skull of the Spitz is of average size; seen from up looks to widen to backwards doing narrower in shape of coins until the tip of the nose.
Depression naso-frontal (Stop): Little pronounced until marked, but never rugged.
FACIAL region:
Truffle: Round, small and black; in all the Spitz of colour pardo is of colour pardo dark.
Snout: No very long, neither thickness neither pointy; it presents a good proportion in relation with the skull (in the Spitz type wolf/Keeshond, in the Spitz big and in the Spitz average the relation snout/skull is roughly 2/3, in the Spitz small and in the Spitz dwarf/Pomeranian is roughly 2/4).
Lips: they are not colgantes; they are very adhered and do not form folds in the commissures. In all the colours are of black colour, in the Spitz of colour pardo are of colour pardo.
Jaws / Teeth: The jaws have a normal development and show a bitten in tijera complete with 42 teeth, that is to say that the incisive upper fall closely by in front of the inferior, the teeth being implanted perpendicularmente to the jaws. In Spitz small and dwarves/ Pomeranian is tolerable the loss of some few promolares. It allows a bitten in tenaza in all the varieties of Spitz.
Cheeks: The cheeks are slightly round and are not prominent.
Eyes: The eyes are average, of form lengthened, a bit oblicuos, of dark colour. The lids present a black pigmentation in all the varieties of colour and only are pardos dark in the Spitz of variety pardo.
Ears: The pointy ears in shape of triangle sharpened are small and rather closely planted among himself. His insertion is tall. They remain always erectas with the rigid tip.
Collar: The collar is medianamente long and presents a wide insertion with the shoulders; in the nape is slightly convex, without papada and covered of a mane in shape of necklace.
Body:
Upper line: The upper line initiates in the tip of the ears erectas and raisin like a soft arch on the short and straight back. The tail deployed and with abundant fur covers partially the back and rounds the silhouette.
Cruz / Back: The tall cross descends imperceptibly on the short back, straight and strong.
Loin: Short, width and strong.
Grupa: The grupa is wide and short, no defeated.
Breast: deep Thorax, very arched; the antepecho is very developed.
Inferior line and belly: The breast is widespread the most possible to backwards; the abdomen is moderately retraído.
Tail: The tail presents a tall insertion and an average longitude; it bends upwards from the root and coils on the back extending firmly. Well recubierta of peel tupido. A double bow in the tip of the tail is acceptable.
Extremities ANTERIOR members:

Shoulder: The scapula is long, planted to backwards in shape oblicua. The arm, that shows almost the same longitude, form with the scapula an angle of roughly 90 degrees. The shoulders with good musculature are closely joined with the thorax.
Arm: Of average longitude, robust and totally rectum in relation with the trunk, covered of enough peel in shape of feather in the back region.
Elbows: The articulation of the elbow is strong, near to the thorax without torsions inwards neither to outside.
Metacarpus: The strong metacarpus and of average longitude, forms an angle of roughly 20° in relation to the perpendicular line.
Leading feet: The leading feet are the smallest possible, round, compact, like feet of cat with toes very arched. The nails and pads are black in all the varieties of Spitz, and only are pardo dark in dogs of colour pardo.
BACK members:
In set: The back members are very musculosos, covered of enough peel long until the articulation of the corvejón. The back members are straight and parallel among himself.
Thigh and leg: they Present roughly the same longitude.
Knee: The articulation of the knee is strong, mildly angulada and, during the movement, does not present torsion to outside neither inwards.
Metatarso: Of average longitude, very strong, maintains a perpendicular position to the soil.
Rear feet: The feet of the back members are the smallest possible, round, with toes very together and arched, like feet of cat. The pads are hard. The colour of the nails and of the pads is the darkest possible.
Movement: The Spitz moves with quite a lot of coordination, with a good push and almost floating in the light trot.
Skin: The skin has to be very adhered to the body, without formation of folds.
Fur I peel: The Spitz have a double layer covered of peel: the external layer is of peel long, rectum and separate and the internal layer is of peel short, dense and lanoso. The head, ears, anterior face of the anterior and back members and of the feet are covered by peel short and dense (aterciopelado). The rest of the body possesses peel long and abundant. The peel does not have to be ondulado, Chinese, neither form greñas, neither has to present a line in the back. A dense mane covers the collar and the shoulders. The back face of the anterior members presents peel in shape of feathers. The back members have to be covered of peel long from the grupa until the articulation of the corvejón. The tail has to be recubierta of the peel long and abundant.

Spitz Black: The fur of the Spitz black has to be dark so much in the lanilla internal as in the skin and the colour of the external layer has to be of black colour jet without any white stain.
Spitz pardo: The Spitz pardo has to have a colour pardo dark uniform.
Spitz White : The peel has to be white pure, without yellowish tones that they can present with frequency in the ears.
Spitz anaranjado: The Spitz anaranjado has to have an alone uniform colour in the rank average of the RAL (International Register of the Scale of colours).
Spitz grisáceo / Keeshond: Grisáceo Understands like grey colour plateado with tips of the pelos black. Snout and ears are of dark colour. Around the eyes finds a drawing in shape of glasses consisting in a delicate black line (that it extends of the external angle of the eye until the inferior part of the insertion of the ear) or in discontinuous lines and in a shaded that they draw short eyebrows, but expressive. Mane and ring of the shoulders are of a clear tone. The anterior and back members are of grey colour plateado without black marks underneath of the elbows and of the knees, except delicate lines on the toes (pencilling). The tip of the tail is black. The inferior part of the tail and the buttocks are of grey colour plateado clear.
Spitz Of other colours: Under this description include all the tonalities eat: colour cream, cream-sabre, anaranjado-sabre, black with fire and marked. The marked have to have a background white colour. The stains of black colour, pardo, grey or anaranjado have to be distributed by all the body.

GRAVE faults:
- Defects in the constitution.
- Head too flat or in shape of apple pronounced.
- Truffle, lids and lips of colour flesh.
- Defects in the premolar in Spitz wolf/Keeshond, Spitz big and average.
- Eyes too big or clear or very salient.
- Defects in the movement.
- Absence of classical drawing of the face in Spitz grisáceos.
ELIMINATORY faults:- Fontanela Open.
- Upper or inferior prognathism
- Entropión Or ectropión.
- Ears fallen.
- Visible white stains in all the Spitz no white.
N.B.: The males have to have two testicles of normal appearance entirely descended in the scrotum.
